Our DIA Lab Trinidad and Tobago, implemented by the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), took center stage from August 2nd to 4th at the NEDCO\’s Entrepreneurship Week 2023. This three-day event, aptly named \”Unlocking the Innovative Mindset,\” aimed to ignite the passion for innovation and business while offering a platform to engage, learn, and connect through in-person and virtual experiences.
At the event, the DIA Lab TT harnessed its exhibitor space forging connections and amplifying awareness about its extraordinary offerings to Trinidad and Tobago\’s youth. This opportunity also allowed us to highlight the success stories of three of our DIA beneficiaries who shared their invaluable experience while promoting their ventures:
- Wavney Vincent with Wavney\’s Sweet Addiction: Navigating the challenges post-COVID-19, Wavney\’s pastry enterprise struggled to regain its footing. The event was crucial for enhancing her business\’s sales and prominence. Thanks to her involvement with the DIA Lab TT, Wavney initiated a thoughtful exploration of branding strategies for her products. This gave valuable insights as she tested various labels and garnered feedback on packaging design
- Jonathan Roach with Seasoning Source: With demand for his seasoning products on a steady ascent, Jonathan Roach finds himself on the brink of expansion. Looking to elevate his seasoning line\’s production value, he capitalized on the event to foster valuable connections. This platform facilitated the establishment of meaningful relationships that can contribute significantly to his scaling efforts.
- Naomi Anderson with Unicakery: A certified chef and pastry instructor, Naomi brought forth her creation, the local cake packaged cake mix, through Unicakery. Leveraging the opportunity provided by the DIA Lab TT, she conducted comprehensive testing of her innovative product. This resulted in her successful re-entry into the market, marking a promising step forward for her venture.
